So, it's fall break and I'm SO GLAD. Everything kinda piled up last week and I'm really glad to get a break. Things have been going really good with school, though. I'm lucky enough this year to have teachers that actually care if you're stressed and want to help you as much as they can. I think I would probably really be hating school right now if I didn't have them lol.

I haven't really done anything this week other than work on Monday, which is fine with me. I haven't gotten a vacation since last summer. Every break I've had since then has either involved some major school project having to be completed or I've been away from home. It's good to just be able to sit around and do NOTHING. *sigh*. ANYWAYS, I'm really happy with how my Senior year has been going so far. There have been a few frustrations but other than that I really think our Seniors are pulling through this year and making it a great one. I was thinking about how much time we have left in school and it kinda scared me though. I mean, December is coming up fast and then we only have like 4 months after that before we graduate and those are going to fly by. At times I don't think I'm ready but at other times I just want to get out. But then I start to think of all my friends and how not all of them are going to be around next year and that really upsets me. Hopefully, somehow things will slow down a bit and graduation won't come up too fast.

Not many people are really using xanga anymore so I don't think I'm going to update that much. Everyone has moved on to myspace or facebook (which I have both of by the way, so just find me).

Sorry I didn't have much else to talk about. Love you!! Bye!!

Saturday, September 02, 2006

Wow guys!! I haven't updated in FOREVER!!!! Not that anyone really uses this anymore though lol.

Hmmm...what is there to talk about. Jazz Choir is AWESOME. Chamber Choir is AWESOME. Government is HILARIOUS!!! Calculus isn't quite as bad as I thought it was going to be but still very confusing. Anatomy and Physiology is VERY interesting. And I LOVE Ms. Jackson's class!!! The whole school spirit situation at Oakland is kinda annoying right now, though, but we're working on it so be patient please.

Last night was Oakland vs. Siegel and OHS WON!!! Woot!!! 7-3, close I know, but we pulled through like I knew we would. I left after 3rd quarter, though, 1) because I was tired 2) because I wanted to get out of there before everyone else did. I had been there since 5:30 anyways so I felt I had represented and supported our team enough for the day lol.

Other than that not much is happening. School is going by VERY slowly but I like it cause I actually have time to do nothing after school. Getting out at 2 is AMAZING. The only downer to my past week or so is that I have lost my voice. I found out that I have asthma. My doctor had always told me that I had an "Asthma-like condition" and right before I went to GSH my doctor said I needed to go to Vanderbilt and get some tests done so they would have a baseline for my information here at home. So I had that appointment like a couple of weeks go and the doctor said I have asthma now and that I need to be put on this medicine called Advair. He said since it was a powder that it might make me hoarse and guess what? IT DID!!! Now, I lose my voice enough as it is and this did not make me happy lol. Plus it is ten times worse now than it has ever been. My voice has never been gone for more than 3 or 4 days or ever COMPLETELY gone which it was last Saturday and Sunday. So far it has been gone 7 days, which is HORRIBLE for someone who has to sit through 2 classes of choirs without being able to sing. We called the doctor and he changed me to this medicine that I have taken before that is made of a microscopic powder so that way it won't clog my throat. HOPEFULLY my voice will be better by Tuesday. If not I'm GONNA kill someone lol. Needless to say I am VERY VERY happy that we have Monday off so I can have another day to rest it.

ANYWAYS. I'm going to go. I hope you guys have had a good three weeks of school. I'll talk to you later!! Love ya!! Bye!!

Saturday, August 12, 2006

*sigh* So, my Senior year has officially started. Is it weird? Yes. Is it exciting? Yes. Am I scared? Yes. Am I confused about how I feel and about school? YES!! lol

So here's my schedule...

E - Anatomy and Physiology Honors - Bell

1 - AP Calculus () - McClellan

2- Government (it being in the annex makes me EXTREMELY angry) / Economics (it's in the main building so that's ok) - Scudder/ Fergusen

3- AP English IV - Jackson (don't know how I feel about that class)

4 - Jazz Choir

5 - Chamber Choir

6 - HOME YAY!!!

Yeah, I'm going to have to get up at 5:30 on Monday. I'm just giving myself an hour so I can see exactly how long I really need to get dressed. I'm just really scared that I am going to oversleep. I REALLY hope my alarm remembers to go off or else I am in trouble lol. Overall, though, I think this year is going to be a good year. I have a lot of classes with my friends and I think my teachers are going to be fun.

Yesterday, other than getting my schedule, I went to the American Idol concert. IT WAS AMAZING!!!! They all sounded great!!! A few of them that I really wasn't that fond of even won me over. I'm so glad I went to the concert this year because this is the first year that I have actually liked all of the top 10 at one time or another. I just get annoyed with them when they get over-promoted. Well, ANYWAYS, Cassie and I had an AMAZING time. We sat next to the cutest old man lol. He was there for the soul music lol. SO CUTE!!!

Talk to you guys later!!! Love you!!! Bye!!

Wednesday, August 02, 2006

Hey guys!! Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I really cannot believe summer is going to be over in 9 days. I've managed to finish all my summer reading (not that it was that much this year for a change) and I'm ATTEMPTING to study for my ACT. The only problem is, the book I have to help me study is making me feel REALLY stupid lol. But those books are made harder on purpose to make you study more.

So lately, I've spent most of my time shopping for school clothes, working, and watching "Friends" with all of my friends lol. I think all of my friends are now addicted to the show lol, but it gives us a chance to talk. I still cannot belive we are going to be SENIORS. I mean, yeah, I keep saying it, but it hasn't really hit me yet. It probably won't hit me until the first or second day of school when I go back and I notice that all my old senior friends like Emily aren't there anymore. I just really hope my work load isn't too hard this year, but from what I've heard from people who have already taken the classes, I don't think it is going to be quite as much work as APUSH was...Can anything be as much work as APUSH? lol. Plus, there are SO many things to look forward to this year...football games, pep rallies, variety show, prom dress shopping, musical, choir trip, senior trip, and prom. I think it is going to be the best year EVER!!!

So I'm going to the American Idol concert with Ms. Cassie Fisher in about 9 days. I'm uber excited!!!!! We've kinda made it a tradition to go to concerts together in the summer whenever possible. I think we are going to have an AMAZING night. Right Cassie?

ANYWAYS, I've pretty much run out of stuff to talk about. Not that anyone CARES seeing as no one uses this anymore and I've only gotten like 2 or 3 comments on my past entries . *sigh*...lol. I'll talk to you guys later!! Love ya!! Bye!!

Sunday, July 16, 2006

Hey guys!!

I'm still missing GSH SO much. Next year is just not going to be the same for me at Oakland cause I'm going to keep wanting to compare it to GSH and it's just not going to live up to it AT ALL. *sigh* I wish I could do the five weeks over again...and again...and again. We have our reunion on December 2 but it's only 2 hours and it's just going to be even harder to leave these people all over again.

Well, I have senior pics this Thursday and I went out this weekend to buy a shirt to wear. I really did not like anything in my closet for pictures. That happens to me all the time, I buy something and I like it at the time but then I get home and I never like it as much as when I tried it on at the store. I hope my pictures turn out good because I'm going to be really depressed if they don't.

This weekend my sister was in town and surprisingly we really didn't do that much. We went to Coolsprings and I got a couple of shirts that I really like. Then Sunday Cassie and I went to go and see "Pirates of the Caribbean 2" I LOVED it, but I thought that there was way too much fighting. I also saw "Superman" which is AWESOME and I suggest that everyone go and see it. Brandon Routh is EXTREMELY hot by the way. Other than those few outings we pretty much sat around the house and watching tv shows and dvd's.

*sigh* This was a depressingly short entry for me. There really isn't that much to say cause i just got back from GSH and I haven't done all that much. So I'll talk to you guys later when I actually have something to talk about. Love ya!! Bye!!

Sunday, July 09, 2006

Governor's School: Week 5

*sigh* well, I'm home guys. I'm not as excited about being home as I thought I would be...in fact I'm kind of depressed. GSH and Browning Hall WERE my home. So now I'm homesick for there. Yeah, I know it's confusing. I never thought I could feel this much sadness after only 5 weeks, but I guess it is because I have never met a group of more genuine and amazing people in my entire life. I now have 79 new friends plus counselors, teachers, and administrators. I'm going to miss Dr. Ogg and Mama Jane, Amber, Tracy, Dr. Eckert and yes...even Dr. Parker....yeah it's kinda scary that I miss his psychoticness.

I miss waking up in the morning on weekends to Ray knocking on our dorm room door for 10 minutes straight until we finally get up and answer and then her telling us that she never heard us say "come in" in the first place. I miss my roomie MARY who was like my twin from another mother, Kathryn, Lynley, and Lauren dancing to "Ice Cream and Cake" with me and I miss Jihae and Anna. I MISS EVERYONE!!!!

I just keep talking about Governor's School stories and no one really gets them. *sigh*.

So this week was really busy and the saddest week of my entire life. We had a cookout for the 4th and then we all got dressed up like we were going to a movie premiere to go and see "The Devil Wears Prada". Then we had Closing banquet (where I bawled my eyes out), Talent Show (mucho fun), "All Access" videography movie (The funniest moments and skits that I've seen in my entire life, and also the saddest thing ever...cried again), and our horror movie. Then it was back to the dorm to sign yearbooks and I stayed up until 5:00 in the morning (everyone else stayed up all night but my sister was coming to town and I knew they wouldn't like it if I slept all day Friday). Then it was up at 8:30 to go to the closing speech and to graduation. That was the hardest thing to sit through ever. After that, we packed up and left.

I missed all my friends here in the 'Boro but I just wish that you guys had the opportunity to meet these 79 people. I have never met a group of more accepting people and friendlier people in my entire life. I wish I could have brought them all home with me.

To Everyone from Gov School: PLEASE KEEP IN TOUCH!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO IF I EVER LOST YOU GUYS!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!

*sigh* Well, I'm going to go. I'll talk to you all later!!! Love you!! Bye!!

Sunday, July 02, 2006

Governor's School: Week 4

Aww so I only have 4 more days here guys. It's so sad, but I'm ready to come home at the same time. It is going to be SO hard leaving everyone. And its going to be really weird coming back to Murfreesboro and trying to find my way around again. The place kinda seems like home now and the campus is SO BEAUTIFUL and I really don't want to leave it. I wish I could go to college here but I would not want to live in these dorms for more than 5 weeks lol. Plus some of the professors here are kinda weird lol. I do, however, have my UTM pullover, so I have proof that I did actually go to UTM at one time lol.

On Tuesday we had Toga night which was really fun. We all were dressed up with these leaves on our heads and gold bands around our waists lol. We had a VERY yummy Greek dinner and then Mary and I went upstairs to teach everyone how to Greek dance (Mary is Greek). They were party poopers though and left after only 30 minutes. I think the dances were too tiring for them lol.

Wednesday we had an ice cream and cake party celebrating everyone's birthday that took or will take place during this time. It was quite good.

Thursday we had to present our advertising commercial and stuff to the guy that owns the pizzeria. He actually liked our commercial, which really surprised me. We have to present again this Thursday or something...it might be Wednesday...idk I'm really confused about what is happening this week.

Friday we went to the Hermitage and Opry Mills. It took us FOREVER to get to the Hermitage cause we got stuck in traffic cause of road work. Luckily our bus had the working TV so we watched "Pirates of the Caribbean" on the way there (which really makes me want to go and see the 2nd movie now. I'm so glad that is is coming out Friday). Then we finally got to Andrew Jackson's home and they were like "Well, we're going to make you stay here till 6:30 so that we can make up for the time we lost." This made everyone pretty mad cause 1) There was nothing to do 2) It was cutting into our mall time. So we all decided to go back to the bus by 5:30 and maybe they would let us leave. BUT we didn't end up leaving until 6:00 anyways cause we had to wait for one of the counselors to decide to come back. Then we ate dinner at Opry Mills and walked around until 8:40. Then it was back on the bus and we watched "Just Friends". Guys, that is the CUTEST movie every. It looked like one of those stupid comedies when I saw the previews for it but it is a REALLY cute story. I LOVED it. Then we stuck in Stealth but I fell asleep during that one. FINALLY we got back to the dorm at midnight and I went straight to sleep lol.

Yesterday we had a pool party and cookout along with a softball game. OMG everyone took that game SO seriously. I was like "Guys, it's JUST a game." The scholars lost to the teachers/counselors, which is really sad but whatever. It doesn't matter. No one was really paying attention. We were just there to have fun.

Today was Talent Show rehearsal and then Mary and I went to eat at the Mexican restaurant down the road. It was really good but I think I like the one on campus better.

Well, I've already typed WAY too much on here. I'll talk to you guys later!!! Love ya!!! Bye!!

Monday, June 26, 2006

Governor's School: Week 3

So this week was MUCHO better than last week. We have had so much fun watching movies, filming horror movies, being stupid, and auditioning for the talent show.

Had my Art mid-term this week. It was SO much easier than we all thought it was going to be. Like she gave us this HUGE review and it had like a million things on there and half of the stuff me and everyone else didn't know hardly anything about. So we all thought we were going to fail. Then we get there and take the test and it is only about like 4 things on the review. It kinda made me mad cause I spent all that time studying for nothing lol. Well, actually, it did help cause I made a 93!! . I was EXTREMELY excited.

I'm kinda worried about advertising though cause we have YET to film our commercial. We were supposed to film Friday but the guy that was supposed to act in our commercial forgot, but we're going to shoot Monday *crosses fingers* and as far as I know he remembers this time lol. So we should have that done by Tuesday.

Mary and about 14 other girls and I are all dancing to "The Ice Cream and Cake Song". Ok now the best way to describe this song is like this...think of the "Peanut Butter Jelly Song" and then change the beat a little bit and say Ice Cream and Cake a lot and that's the song. I'll have to teach you all the dance when I get home.

We also decided to make a horror movie. One of the guys here, AJ, wants to be a professional horror film director so we made a nongoofy movie. I was the first to die . I went for a run and got killed by this girl named Ray who has a split personality and then the rest of my friends get killed looking for me. So far it is edited really well and is actually kind of creepy. We only have 11 minutes so far but we are going to finish filming this week so it will probably end up being like half and hour or something like that. *sigh* The things to come up with to do when we are bored at Governor's School.

Only 2 more weeks until I'm home guys!! Actually less than that. It's really 12 days. I'm excited to come home so I won't have to go to classes anymore but I'm really sad cause I don't want to have to say goodbye to all my new friends .

I'll talk to you guys later! PLEASE comment me and make me feel loved. 2 comments was just PITIFUL!!! Love ya!!
So it's the end of a very VERY long 2 weeks. I'm still having lots of fun, but I would have ten times more fun if I didn't have to take classes. They can be really stressful. This week I had to give a presentation on "The History of the Baptist Church" and be grilled by my classmates on the subject. Yeah, that was interesting. Then we had our first test in there. I CRAMMED for that sucker. Then I get there and find out that it was mostly from his lectures. Jennifer made a 91!!! WOOT!!! And that ladies and gentlemen translates into an A in the college world lol. Sorry, I'm proud of myself. I seriously thought I was going to fail my first college test. Next week and this week are Islam, so yeah, I'm not sure how well that test is going to go. I think that the only reason I did so good on this test is cause it was my religion. So now I have to read the Quran so that I can learn about what those who practice Islam believe. It shall be interesting. Especially since my teacher is VERY creepy. He has informed us that he is going to exorcise the room sometime (yeah this is the kind of stuff that I have nightmares about). Oh and in case you were wondering...YES he does have frequent conversations with the Devil, HOWEVER his last conversation was a year ago and he's not sure what it has been that long cause they used to talk all the time. Now see you guys are probably reading this thinking, "Ha ha this man is just messing with their minds." NO HE'S REALLY NOT!! He is DEAD serious. I'm not even joking. I'm really scared he is going to go ballistic one day.

My art class is going AMAZING though. We have our first test in there on Wednesday. She's giving us a review, so I think it'll be fine. If not, I really don't think it is going to matter that much cause we already have TONS of grades in there.

I didn't have that much homework this week, which was REALLY good. So Mary and I spent our downtime talking, dancing in the hallway to the "Ice Cream and Cake" song with the rest of the girls in the hallway, exercising, and sleeping lol. This, my friends, is college life. OH and we had an Iron Chef dessert pizza competition. That was SO fun. My team won third place and Mary's won first *glares* lol. They had a better presentation then us though so they deserved to win.

Well, I'm going to go. I'll talk to you all later!! Love ya!! Bye!!

Governor's School!!

Hey guys!! I know Ihaven't updated in a really long time, but I'm at Governor's school now. My roommate's name is Mary. She's really nice. We almost have like the exact same personality which is really creepy lol. But we get a long just fine and haven't hit any bumps in the road yet.

Sharing a bathroom with 4 girls turned out WAY better than I expected. Yan and I take our showers at night and Ashley and Mary take theirs in the morning (Yan and Ashley are our suitemates). Everyone is really nice here and easy to talk to.

My classes....

Religious Studies

Well, the stuff that we are learning about is interesting but the teacher I am not so sure about. He assigned us 67 pages on the first day!!! It was crazy. A lot of people didn't do it but I'm really glad that I did cause we also have to read the Torah (the 1st 5 books of the bible) and the book of Job. I also have to do a presentation next Tuesday on the history of the Baptist Church. Most of it is stuff I already know. But like I said the professor is really weird. He made like 6 of us introduce ourselves on Monday and then I think I was like the only name he could remember so he kept calling on me and I didn't know the answers to the questions he asked me cause I have never learned this stuff before. Idk it made me feel really stupid. But today was better and I didn't get randomly called on lol. We do have some heated discussions in there though cause a majority of the class is atheist. Hopefully the work will stop piling up though. I've got a lot of stuff done so far.

Art I really like. I think the teacher is really nice. However, I'm not very good at interpreting art so I kinda feel stupid. But at least one person had the same opinion as me on the first thing we interpreted. I really like the way the art teacher teaches though and we get to start drawing tomorrow.

Haven't had that much free time, which is something I expected. I had a little more today than yesterday and I will probably have more tomorrow. My roommate and I went with Rach to work out for like 15 minutes cause we got there right before it closed. It was fun.

For my elective, which is non graded, I'm taking Advertising, which is going to be really fun, plus I LOVE the girl that is helping teach. She is so sweet.

Well, that's all for now. I have to go to bed cause it's getting late. I'll talk to you all later!!! Love ya!! Bye!!!
